Aberdeen Youth Empowerment Society (AYES) was the final 2nd year project.  AYES is a centre for young people age between 12 and 24, it provides a comfortable and safe space for them to engage in positive activities and to build a social community. The centre is separated into three parts: the multi-activity room, the cafe and the counselling centre. The counselling centre is on the first floor, it has a couple of small rooms connecting the cafe and a muti-purpose activity room towards the rear side of the site. The cafe faces a busy area on King Street and is open to the public, the design focus is to create a friendly and fresh atmosphere.
